Banner News is preparing to relaunch in 2026 as a modern local news source for Belmont, Cramerton, Lowell, McAdenville, Mount Holly, Stanley, and surrounding Gaston County communities.

Established in 1888 as The Belmont Banner, the publication has long been part of the area’s local news history. After later becoming part of Banner News in 2014 and closing in 2022, the name is returning with a renewed focus on the people, places, businesses, events, and issues shaping our communities today.

Our goal is simple: to help neighbors stay informed, connected, and engaged. Banner News will cover local news, city updates, development, business openings, community events, school and nonprofit stories, local history, and the everyday moments that make this area feel like home.

As Belmont and the surrounding towns continue to grow, we believe local coverage matters more than ever. Banner News is being rebuilt for today’s readers while honoring the legacy of a publication that has been part of this community for generations.
